I have some major attitude issues. (**gasp** I'm not perfect! j/k. I mean I know I'm not perfect and I don't usually pretend to be... moving along...) getting back to my original statement, on of the biggest attitude issues I have been struggling with, is doing a job that somebody else should have done and it usually is their job. Tonight I was having issues with that. Even if it is something that I normally would enjoy, I turn it into drudgery and a bunch of complaining, which ends up making me and usually everyone else miserable.
In Colossians, Paul directly addresses how we should do things. Colossians 3.23 states And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men... If I would remember this and apply it to my life, how would that affect everything I do and the attitude that I do it with?
Another very clear principle throughout the Bible, is that we are supposed to serve others. I don't think God wants us to consider it a "chore" or some type of "drudgery" to serve each other. We are supposed to consider it a privileged and a way to win others over. In I Corinthians 9.19, Paul says, For though I am free from all men, I have made myself a servant to all, that I might win the more... Paul made himself a servant. Jesus made Himself a servant on countless occasions. Jesus is our ultimate example. If He, the Creator of the Universe, could joyfully serve His disciples, shouldn't I do my best to do my small tasks with a good attitude? I think, yes.
