The Week of Awesome Insanity

Insane Item #1: This week Em and I finished the Falcon Trial. All 13 miles...(we ran 8 or 9 of them and walked the rest. But it was pouring rain and a pretty decent thunderstorm and totally dark...)
The amazing 13 mile marker! YES!

Ahhh!

We were so excited!

Break from insanity #1:
MJ's outfit :) guess who got her the shirt?
Insane Item #2: For our "recovery" day we decided it would be a **brilliant** idea to climb Mount Herman. Ends up that hike is even harder than Eagle's Peak... It was stunning, though! (I will add a couple more pictures at the top when I can get them off Juedeman's camera...)

"I'm not a tree hugger!"

"...well, maybe I am..."

"Why are we doing this? Seriously!"
"I'm really liken' this lichen! AH!"

God's creation is so pretty!
"It's a dead tree!!!! With lichen!!!!"

It was so pretty!
Carving a "D" in the tree.

Em :) She is a major beast. she did over 30 miles this week! o_O

Singing at the top of his lungs...
Yay! We're at the top! ..of the rock...not the mountain...

"I'm going to push you off!"
Hand off of the banana phone made out of...wood?

working on that whole fear of heights thing...

"We're at the top! Let's throw a small tree off the top!"
We didn't know we were getting our pictures taken...

still didn't know...
Sadly...we posed for this one...

and this one... we're special...
Group pic at the top!
The finished "D" on our way back down.
Group pic by the dead guy memorial thing...
we legitly climbed that!

 Break from insanity #2:
Dinner. Viv and Mom made an amazing spaghetti dinner! Ah! It was so yummy!
The kids decided they should tie Juedeman's shoes. (thanks you guys!)

It took them quite awhile...

Insane Item #3: Us being us...
yea...it's scary...

Last Weekend [COWG Conference and other happenings]

Last weekend ended up being a total blast. It started out with Viv, Em, Katie and I going to a movie after I was done babysitting. Which I would like to mention was the first movie in f.o.r.e.v.e.r. that I didn't have to fight to stay awake in (I think it was because I decided I was going to sleep through it...). After a very refreshing **cough** 2 hours of sleep it was time to get up and head to the COWG Wing Conference. It was a lot of fun and I actually took a fair amount away from it. We accidently attended a Comms class, which reminded me why I don't love comms...sadly, I'm the squadrons comms officer, so it was probably a good thing to go too. It was great to get to see Capt Jessop, Lt Lancaster and Col Mixon again. I love those guys so much! I learned a lot about drill during the Drill 101 class. It was very enlightening. Once it ended, we stopped at Starbucks (YES!) and Chick-fil-a, leaving havoc behind...

Once we got back to town and made a couple quick stops, we went up to USAFA and stopped on a dirt road to watch the stars. I even learned how to spot satellites! (kinda...I did find a couple "satellites" that ended up being airplanes. I guess satellites don't blink.) I also learn that is possible to walk up a dirt road in nylons with out tearing them to shreds!

It was a good weekend. A really good one. Plus I won a war with Ben on Sunday night!

Juedeman's Russian plane

an almost infinitely positive effect!

Juedeman and his F-35 (which he crashed the following Monday...ends up it's bad to take planes over curbs...)

Take one!

Take two!

Take three!

Reg's hair Sunday morning. It was EPIC.
