Serving With Joy
I have some major attitude issues. (**gasp** I'm not perfect! j/k. I mean I know I'm not perfect and I don't usually pretend to be... moving along...) getting back to my original statement, on of the biggest attitude issues I have been struggling with, is doing a job that somebody else should have done and it usually is their job. Tonight I was having issues with that. Even if it is something that I normally would enjoy, I turn it into drudgery and a bunch of complaining, which ends up making me and usually everyone else miserable.
In Colossians, Paul directly addresses how we should do things. Colossians 3.23 states And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men... If I would remember this and apply it to my life, how would that affect everything I do and the attitude that I do it with?
Another very clear principle throughout the Bible, is that we are supposed to serve others. I don't think God wants us to consider it a "chore" or some type of "drudgery" to serve each other. We are supposed to consider it a privileged and a way to win others over. In I Corinthians 9.19, Paul says, For though I am free from all men, I have made myself a servant to all, that I might win the more... Paul made himself a servant. Jesus made Himself a servant on countless occasions. Jesus is our ultimate example. If He, the Creator of the Universe, could joyfully serve His disciples, shouldn't I do my best to do my small tasks with a good attitude? I think, yes.

running= relief and love and happiness and all those good things
okay. I have this love, but I sometimes hate it and I tend to abandon it on a fairly regular basis and I can also get addicted to it if I push myself. It's this lovely, painful thing called running. One of my brothers is training to try out for a cross country team for the upcoming season and he is sweet and lets me run (or rather attempt to run) with him.
Running feels good. It resets my brain and relieves stress like none other.
Tonight just my mom, my littlest brother and I got to go for a jog/walk. It was really nice. My mom and I hardly ever just get time together. So I really enjoyed it. annnnnnnd we took pics!
| We stopped at the top of the hill to take a pic. Then I got to run the hill.... :P |
| Reg posing |
an amazing Colorado sunset.
These are just some of the reasons I love running. Being outside. Soaking in the beauty of Colorado. and just because "it hurts so good."
